Collaborate with us to deliver Just Action 2019
Ever wondered how a conference gets thrown together. From inspiration to conception to planning and execution. Like to gain some skills to put on your CV. Just Action 2019 is The Salvation Army Social Policy and Parliamentary Unit’s flagship biennial gathering happening in Wellington Tue 1 to Wed 2 Oct 2019. It’s aimed at the faith community, policymakers, media, and plan ole ordinary kiwis concerned about social justice.
Come volunteer with us to run the conference and see how things are done from the inside. Gain valuable project development and event management experience. There are multiple positions to fit your interest: registration desk, greeters, networkers, logistics, good old problems solvers, even First Aiders.
While past event management involvement is desirable, you don’t have to have experience to come on board as you will work under the direction of an experienced conference organiser.
The Salvation Army is a Christian church but you don’t have to be a Christian to join us, just an open heart and mind and being comfortable in a Christian social justice space.
Meals will be provided as well as a public transport subsidy to and from the venue and a free ticket to attend the conference sessions. Ideally, you will live within public transport access of Wellington city as we are unable to provide accommodation. Ages: 18 and over.
Join us to support our work in social justice, gain or enhance valuable skills, and make new friends in the social justice community!
