The housing crisis facing Pasifika people in Aotearoa

Talk of the housing crisis is constant and everywhere. For Pacific families, they are bearing the brunt of the housing crisis. Right across the Housing Continuum, from homelessness through to home ownership, Pasifika are over-represented in homelessness, emergency housing and renting, and massively under-represented in home ownership. This Discussion Paper looks closer at Pacific communities using the Housing Continuum as a framework. From there, we develop specific recommendations that we believe, if implemented, could help in addressing the severe housing issues many Pacific people face.
