The empty space inside

Ecclesiastes 3:11 “He has made everything beautiful in its time.  He has also set eternity in the hearts of men”

Have you ever felt like there was something missing in your life, something you know you need and sometimes it seems like it is just about in your grasp but then in a brief moment it disappears again.  Or as that intrepid little mouse Stuart Little put it in the movie “I have an empty space inside”. 

As human beings we all feel that there is something that we need to make our lives better and complete.  We think that if we could just find that ‘thing’ then everything will be better.  The problem is that so often the things that we try do not make any difference.  There are plenty of things that people use to fill their empty space.  No matter how hard we try to fill it, the emptiness still remains.

I believe that the empty space all of us have within is something a friend of mine once called “A God shaped hole”.  It is an empty space that only the love of God can fill.

A relationship with our creator gives us everything we need to fill the empty space and to fill those areas where there is something lacking.  All we need to do is to respond to His pursuit of our heart.  God can fill the empty space that you have in your heart. When God begins to fill your empty space, you will find out that there is a “YOU” shaped hole in the heart of God because He is waiting just for you.
