The Lord is my Potter and I am the clay.
His hands are skilled and practiced. He knows just how much water to add to keep me pliable and useful. He knows when I need to be set aside and what to mix in to help me be sturdy. The Lord, my Potter, is shaping me into a vessel fit for His service. The Lord is my Potter and I am the vessel He made. I am a living vessel constantly being created and used; reshaped, reused…mystery is involved.
How can I be pliable clay and useful pottery at the same time? When I am cracked, chipped or broken, the Potter repairs me. He is the Lord, the Creator, the Re-creator, and the artist of my Life. The Lord is the Potter and I am His clay.
The Lord is my Potter and I am His clay vessel, His pottery made to serve Him. It is a miracle and I wonder at His amazing ways. The Potter shapes, designs, fires, paints, finishes and uses me – a lump of pliable clay. Potter, help me to be useful.
Thank you for the gift, honor and privilege to be Your clay.
