The Lord is my Shepherd. In all my ways I acknowledge Him and He directs my paths. I yield to His plan and He guides my steps. I admit that He is my Shepherd and He leads the way. He sees far ahead and knows my destination so I can trust His plans. I do this most of the time; however there have been and in all honesty, will be times I push ahead of the Shepherd or lag far behind.
When I try to rely on my own counsel or wisdom, I can – I do get into trouble. When my will power or won’t power goes into overdrive, I forget to yield to my Shepherd’s plan.
The Lord is my Shepherd. His rod and staff are important tools when He works with me. Guiding and guarding, me first - most of all; but sometimes rescuing me or disciplining when I need it. In my heart I have “hidden” His word – set it to memory – yes! Planted it so it grows and is a part of who I am – yes! His rod and staff, His Word, His Promises help keep me on the right path. I acknowledge Him – yield to, profess, follow and rely upon my Shepherd. He directs my paths and influences my life. I love Him.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.” Proverbs 3:5, 6 (NLT)
