It was just a tiny stone. A little pebble in my shoe but it irritated at every step.
I turned my foot slightly to ease the problem but that only made the steps uncomfortable in a different way. The obvious answer was to stop and remove the obstacle but before I did that I had put up with the problem for some time.
We often accommodate little issues in our lives for lengthy periods before we stop and deal with them.
Like the stone in my shoe God draws our attention to things in our lives that need attention. We walk uncomfortably until we respond to the growing pressure to deal with the issues. But once we deal with the issues the relief is always worth the effort involved. God never forces us to change but deals with us gently. 2 Peter 1:8 says ‘The more you grow like this the more productive and useful you will be in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
What are the little pebbles in your shoe today? Why not pause and remove them.
