Following the August launch of a charity partnership between OCS and The Salvation Army in New Zealand, the team of facilities management specialists has been busy engaging their staff in support of a host of The Salvation Army’s recent fundraising initiatives including 14 Hours Homeless and the Christmas Appeal as well as volunteering for an emergency food parcel pack night held in Christchurch to support relief efforts in Kaikoura and Marlborough.
The Salvation Army also featured prominently at OCS’ recent national conference held in Rotorua receiving more than $10,000 in food donations for the local foodbank and a cheque for more than $15,000 from the funds raised by staff and suppliers at the conference dinner. The Chasing Great Conference Dinner featured an auction package for a helicopter trip for four piloted by All Black great, Richie McCaw.
OCS New Zealand Managing Director Gareth Marriott says he and the team are proud to support such a worthy cause and are looking forward to what more they can do to assist The Salvation Army nationally moving forward. “We believe the work The Salvation Army does fits well with the objectives of the OCS Family Foundation and are thrilled the charity’s locations nationwide provide opportunities for all our staff to be involved if they choose to do so,” said Gareth.
Salvation Army Public Relations Director Shane Chisholm was delighted to receive the donations at the recent conference. “It’s a pleasure to engage with such an enthusiastic and proactive charity partner.”
