We are pleased to announce The Salvation Army New Zealand, Fiji, Tonga and Samoa Women's Ministries Territorial Project for 2021 is Embrace Fiji - fundraising to send as many Fijian women as we can to the Fiji Division's Embrace women's camp.
Participating Divisions this year are invited to #EmbraceFiji with us, and dedicate their fundraising efforts to this wonderful opportunity for embracing women.
Captain Rochelle Moffatt is one of Fiji's Divisional leaders, as well as Divisional Director of Women’s Ministries and Divisional Secretary for Personnel. Over her time in Fiji, Rochelle has seen the willingness of the women to travel great distances to meet together, because of their great joy in community, fellowship and faith. After COVID restrictions made gathering in groups and camps untenable in 2020, Rochelle says the opportunity for women to meet together as one this year will be a gift. The theme 'Embrace' came to Rochelle as she reflected on this, and the idea for a Divisional women's camp where the Fijian women could celebrate, embrace one another and connect more deeply with God!
We invite all of The Salvation Army New Zealand, Fiji, Tonga and Samoa to participate in our Embrace Fiji Territorial Project! We will be fundraising to send as many women to the Embrace Fiji Divisional women's camp as possible. Women's Ministries may spearhead fundraising initiatives in your local setting, but everyone is invited to take part. How could you fundraise for this wonderful project? In the past women have pioneered events, movie nights, sales, handmade items, auctions and more to get people involved.
One woman will cost $100 NZD to send to camp.
How many women can we embrace?
Select Divisions are also carrying over their 2020 Divisional Project this year, as COVID restrictions affected fundraising last year. We fully support and encourage these Divisions as they pursue their Divisionally-led focus.
Personal donations: We also welcome personal donations from individuals or groups. Contact your local Corps Officer/s to see how you can join with local efforts. If you would like to make a one-off donation, the details for our Territorial account are as follows:

Rochelle tells us the theme of Embrace playing out in multiple ways at Embrace Camp:
She also sees Embrace Camp as 'an opportunity to 'embrace' women from beyond the current Salvation Army family'. Your fundraising for Embrace Fiji will mean more women can attend camp to benefit from this teaching and experience. Thank you for all your faithful efforts and for embracing the women of Fiji this year.
