The United Nations has set 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as 'an urgent call for action by all countries - developed and developing - in a global partnership. They recognize that ending poverty and other deprivations must go hand-in-hand with strategies that improve health and education, reduce inequality, and spur economic growth – all while tackling climate change and working to preserve our oceans and forests.'
We believe that prayer is the biggest action a Christian can begin with. Will you join us in an urgent call for prayer, as we intercede for women and girls through each of the Sustainable Development Goals?

Goal #7: Affordable and Clean Energy | Find out more
Ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy
In 2017, an estimated 3 billion people worldwide lacked clean cooking fuels and technologies. Girls in households that use solid fuels for cooking spend 18 hours a week gathering fuel, compared to 5 hours a week in households using clean fuels, according to data from 13 sub-Saharan African countries.
'Father God, creator of Heaven and Earth, we give you praise and glory for all that you continue to do for us each day.
We thank you for this world we live in and the rich and diverse resources found across its many countries and regions. Thank you especially for our world’s energy sources - the sun’s warmth and light, wind, oceans, fossil fuels, geothermal heat and many others we have not mentioned. We are grateful Father, for these gifts as they are important to our survival. We thank you also for the knowledge and skills you continue to give us, to utilize, with care, these resources so we can meet our daily needs. We learn from studies conducted by many organizations and individuals that many people have become more energy-efficient, new sources of energy have been identified to produce electricity and access to electricity has generally improved in poorer parts of the world. We thank and praise you, God, for your hand in these developments!
Lord God, we ask that you continue to bless us, especially those who are less fortunate, those who are facing hardship and in great need of help. We ask especially for clean, reliable and sufficient energy supplies for our world, Lord. So many people, particularly those in sub-Saharan Africa and other poorer regions of the world, need access to affordable and safe cooking fuels and technology. We pray for these resources and increased electrification in these places, so these people can access food, clean water and adequate health care.
We pray for your special protection and care for women and children living in these places Lord. We also pray for reliable and sufficient energy supplies to all the health care facilities, in countries, dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic. God, we pray for your protection and care upon those who are vulnerable, the elderly, women and children, and those who are isolated from their loved ones. Supply their homes God, with reliable and sufficient energy, so they can maintain the connection with health providers and first responders as well as their families and loved ones.
Bless those who are working to develop renewable energy sources for our world Lord. Give them wisdom and courage to endure challenges while they develop sustainable energy solutions for our world.
Forgive us for our sins Father and continue to give us knowledge and wisdom to use our environment and its resources wisely and treat each other with care and love. We ask all of these in Jesus name.
Amen.'
