WM is super excited to provide you with this excellent resource collaboration to come out of The Salvation Army Upper Hutt's 24/7 Prayer Week.
With the vision of Upper Hutt's Prayer Coordinator Alana LePine and her team of creatives, the prayer room for the 24/7 prayer week was one of intentionality and beauty - creating a space for His people to seek His face and presence in power.
We followed the A | C | T | S model - Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving and Confession - providing an easy to follow recipe for prayer as people spend time in the prayer space. We have supplied you with a variety of resources that will help recreate a similar theme in your own prayer room, or add individual touches if you choose! You can use this image from the top of the page to promote in Powerpoints or newsletters, or this beautiful picture as a background to get started! Pick up a couple of cacti in real life or let Google do the collecting and let your imagination run wild!
Prayer Room Participant Handout
This will introduce your ACTS prayer room to people who come in. Print off enough so that each person who comes to the prayer space can receive one of these beautiful booklets. These are the same size as the ACTS word cards, so participants can collect their cards in this and take them home with them for further prayer. Check out and download this 24/7 Prayer Room Participant Handout File for yourself! - PRINT A4 DOUBLE SIDED FLIP ON SHORT EDGE
Prayer Room Station Instructions
We have included both the station instructions we used to go along with Adoration | Confession | Thanksgiving | Confession and blank instruction sheets. The blank instructions are useful for if you want to write on the file yourself and include your own instructions for your station. Beside the pictures of each station below, we have included brief suggestions of how you could personalise this station yourself should you want to do it differently.

Prayer Room A | C | T | S Word Cards
These are really cool little cards that will be printed out for each station - explaining the words Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving and Supplication in further detail. Here is the file for you - download these and print them out double sided - each prayer participant should be able to take one of each card home with them. They will fit inside the prayer room handout, so that your people can use this as a resource at home to help them pray. - PRINT A4 DOUBLE SIDED FLIP ON LONG EDGE
Adoration | Mateoha
"Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the LORD our Maker." Psalm 95:6
We are to join all the angels, trees, rocks, rivers, mountains and earth in celebrating who God is. There is a temptation to make the adoration all about us and the way we feel - but true adoration is lifting up God for who HE is and WHAT He is and HOW He is. Spend time every day celebrating, lifting up, clapping your hands, laughing or smiling to yourself in the supermarket about how AMAZING God is. Train yourself in the freedom of adoration of God.
How we did it: The instructions available for this station included having frames | chalkboard pens available. Prayer participants were invited to reflect on the attributes of God and write on the frames to make a portrait of God.
How you could do it: You could utilise paper, pens, paints, sticky notes or any number of easy to access stationery to have available for participants to write on.
Confession | Whākinga Hara
"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 6:23
“Sin wouldn’t be so attractive if the wages were paid immediately.”. Rest assured, there will be no flinching, hiding or escaping from the things we have done - even those of us under the Blood will be called to account for “every word spoken” and “every deed done in secret”.
Let us come to God speedily, speaking out the things that He wills us to that don’t sit right with Him. And let us turn speedily away from them, asking the forgiveness of our Saviour to restore our unity.
How we did it: The instructions available for this station included printing out the photos that make the cross provided here and sticking these onto the wall for participants to consider and pray over.
How you could do it: Use old magazines or War Cry's photos and place in a basket for people to sift through and consider as they are at this station.
Thanksgiving | Whakamoemiti
"I will remember the LORD’s works; yes, I will remember Your ancient wonders." Psalm 77:11
God is fresh and new and wonderful. He is old and wise and ancient. He is above our comprehension and in our very being. Thanksgiving is when we call to mind all the things God has done for us - all the ways He has saved, delivered, carried and borne us. He is a good God and worthy of ALL praise for what He alone has done.
How we did it: The instructions available require polystyrene | pins | material. Cutting a shape of polystyrene representing something significant for your setting, prayer participants are asked to thread in shreds of material as they consider all the things they are thankful for and all the ways God has blessed them and woven them into something wonderful.
How you could do it: Create a puzzle or some kind of other group activity where people can come and work on reflectively and thankfully by themselves, but see the greater picture as more people come through the station.
Supplication | Pakiki
"As we ask, we can be confident He hears and will act." 1 John 5:14
Supplication is described as “the action of asking or begging for something earnestly or humbly”.
This is the attitude we choose to position ourselves in now as we pray - one of humility and earnestness. Do you think sometimes it is tempting to skip all other components of prayer and play supplication on repeat? Having adored, confessed and thanked, we know our hearts are evermore aligned with His so let us humbly approach the throne in earnest supplication for ourselves and those God entrusts us to.
How we did it: The instructions available require pegs | paper | pens | chalk | chalkboard. Participants are encouraged to write a prayer request on a piece of paper and peg it to the prayer board - taking someone else's prayer off the peg to pray for at home. The chalkboard can be covered in prayers of all kinds for the whole Corps to pray over.
How you could do it: You could write letters and place in envelopes addressed to God. You could also have a Facebook page set up where these prayers continue for your Corps.
Prayer Journal
An awesome way to come together as a Corps and keep the momentum going in the Holy Spirit (not to mention it is crazy encouraging to read what God says and speaks through others!) is to have a prayer journal available. We have a poster already made up in the Station Instructions that you can use (or not use, should you not have a journal) - and have people write what they have heard, hoped for or prayed in their time with Jesus.
Some of these could be read out at a Leadership Team meeting, at an event or pinned on to somewhere private and personal in your own space - as a church, we NEED to get deeper with one another and the Lord.
Now is the time to be vulnerable, bold and take the kingdom by force out of the hands of the enemy, through prayer that costs us everything. May the Lord guide us and keep you.
Bless you as you pray and seek the heart of God together.
"If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land." 2 Chronicles 7:14
